Cyclones suffer first loss of season

The Cyclones suffered their first loss of the season, falling 1-0 to the visiting Elgin Community College Spartans.

For most of the first half, Moraine Valley held a majority of the possession, taking numerous shots on goal but ending the first half in a 0-0 deadlock. Within three minutes of the second half, the Spartans maneuvered past the Cyclone defense and the diving keeper to get on the board. After that, the Cyclones lost their focus and scrambled to score. They had several chances to tie things up, including around 30 minutes when the Elgin keeper stepped too far from the net but another defender jumped in to stop the Cyclones' shot. A couple of close corner kicks also nearly saw the Cyclones tie the score, but it did not materialize and Moraine Valley ran out of time.
