The Cyclones took control of their matchup with Morton College, earning the 4-1 victory at home.
To start the game, the Cyclones showed aggression and led the charge. Although the Panthers had some close shots, Giovanni Gonzalez was solid in the net, holding off their attempts and making some big saves along with defensive help from the back line.
Jacob Lesnikowski scored the first goal for the Cyclones with 13 minutes left on the clock before halftime to help his team go up 1-0. In the second half, he scored again as did Fernando Alvarez and Diego Ochoa.
"We have done a great job keeping the guys steady, working and staying patient and positive," said Head Coach Chris Koloffon. "They are good players; they just needed a bit of time to get there. Now we have to keep it up."
