As the soccer season starts to wind down, every match counts, especially in conference play. The Cyclones made a last-minute comeback to tie the game 2-2 with Oakton College.
The Cyclones were down early as the Owls netted one in the first 15 minutes of the game. Similar play continued in the second half when the Owls scored again while Moraine Valley struggled to find the net. However, this team would not be kept down. They kept pushing before Ricardo Mejia scored with three minutes left in the game. Moments later, Ivan Ramirez headed one past the keeper to end the game in a deadlock.
"We have been preaching keeping the faith and belief that we can turn this season around. The staff has been so consistent in that message with this young group," said Head Coach Chris Koloffon. "It was great to see them have a moment like that to enjoy tonight. Hopefully it's the spark we've been looking for."
