It was the perfect way for the Cyclones to open the season as they swept Waubonsee Community College 9-0.

Due to questionable weather, the teams played indoors, but that didn't stop the Cyclones. Most of the victories were swift, including two default wins at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles. The most contentious fight came for freshman Zachary DeMarco at No. 4 singles as he suffered a huge setback in the first set, bounced back for the second and won the third-set tiebreaker (10-4).
