Full roster back to toe the line at Gil Dodds Invite

While not at 100% strength, the Cyclones were still able to run well among a sea of four-year colleges and universities for 14th place out of 20 teams at the Gil Dodds Invitational at St. James Farm in Warrenville.

Moraine Valley was only one of two community colleges in the mix as they held their own among the NCAA schools across the 8K course. With the full roster back to toe the line, only one was unable to finish due to injury.

Angelo Esparza led the way in 27:55.00 for 71st place among 251 runners. Coming in after him was Andrew Leon (28:25.20, 93rd), David Santiago (28:58.90, 115th), Gavin Rybicki (29:39.40, 145th), Juan Macias (30:21.60, 167th), Brennan Rudolph (31:16.50, 194th), Jacob Silva (34:14.00, 234th), Matthew Busch (35:13.00, 237th) and Josue Trujillo (37:03.70, 242nd).

"While not fully healthy, it was good to have everyone back racing. There were some big improvements from the last meet, and I think this is a better indication of where we are as a team," said Head Coach Dimitri Dimizas. "This was a faster start than they've experienced before, but it's the kind of start they need to get used to if they want to reach their goals. Individually, they know they need to change some things. Collectively, there are a lot of little things we need to improve between getting off the van and getting to the start line. We have about a month left to figure it all out, but they're a hungry team, so I expect them to handle the changes well."
