Cyclones score 26 runs in split with Bulldogs

It was a big-hitting afternoon for the Cyclones as they collected 26 runs and split a doubleheader with South Suburban College.

GAME ONE
This first matchup was a high-scoring affair as the Cyclones amassed 12 hits while the Bulldogs had 15 and just edged out Moraine Valley 12-10.

Haley Tracy had a big day at the plate with three hits in four at-bats, including a double in the third and sixth and a single in the fifth. Moraine Valley first got on the board in the bottom of the first with an RBI single from Estelle Loth (3-for-4) and sac fly from Haley. The Bulldogs gained a two-run lead in the second after an error scored one run and then they had a string of hits. Their five-run fifth inning extended the lead. However, the Cyclones countered in the sixth with six runs on one hit. Tracy hit an RBI double and fielding errors allowed the other runs.

Brooklynn Sedlak started on the mound, surrendering 11 hits and 11 runs, striking out seven.

GAME TWO
Abbie Trendle (4-for-4, 2 RBIs) and Sedlak were the offensive beasts in the nightcap as they helped their team outscore the Bulldogs in a 16-5 victory.

The Cyclones jumped to a lead in the bottom of the second when Trendle and Sedlak (4-for-4, 3 RBIs) each hit RBI singles and Tracy (2-for-2, 6 RBIs) hit a two-run double. The bottom of the third inning saw the Cyclones collect seven more runs on six hits. Trendle hit another RBI single while Sedlak and Tracy hit two-run doubles. Annabelle Rush (2-for-4, RBI) hit a massive RBI triple before the final run was gained on a fielding error. The Bulldogs only mustered runs in the second and fifth innings.

Tracy brought her hurling talents to the circle as well this game, earning the win after allowing six hits and five runs, striking out two and walking one.
