In their opening match of the season at home against Illinois Valley Community College, the Cyclones fell 0-9.

Due to the weather, the matches were moved indoors. This was the first college match for most of the team as they felt their way around the courts. In her first regular season match as head coach, Simona Tomczak said she knows she still has work to do to get the freshmen prepared for this level of play.
