The heat was no one's friend at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational in Rock Island. Times were slow overall for every participating college, and the Cyclones were able to run four as the only community college in the race.
Eva Zimmerman continued to lead the Cyclones, crossing the line of the 6K course in 25:11.5 for 20th place among 103 finishers. Coming in after her was Rylee Milenkovic (27:45.7, 63rd place), Fernanda Cabrera (28:05.0, 66th place) and Guadalupe Marquez (33:30.4, 101st place).
"It seems like every year the women on the team step up to the challenge and tough it out when the conditions aren't great; these women did the same," said Head Coach Dimitri Dimizas. "We're still trying to get everyone healthy and ready for the region championship race, but if this meet is any indication of what the women are capable of, then we'll be just fine."
