Even with a sloppy start, the Cyclones were able to find their rhythm and bring home a decisive 89-65 victory over Harper College.
It didn't take long for the Cyclones to grab the lead and put a halt to the Hawks offense, leading 23-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Hawks, however, worked their way back in the second quarter, cutting their deficit. But the Cyclones continued to press and went on a huge run in the third quarter (30-7) to put the game out of reach for the Hawks.
Jadea Johnson led the effort with 25 points, 11 rebounds and six steals. Isabel Lopez had a season-high 13 points with three three-pointers. Sam Cortez also had a season-high 12 points, all on threes. Laila Houseworth continued her effective early season play with nine points, seven rebounds, seven assists, five steals and only one turnover. Lily Hernandez chipped in 12 points.
