It was all domination before the Thanksgiving break as the Cyclones crushed the visiting Kishwaukee College Kougars 110-47.
The Cyclones jumped out to an early 36-9 lead in the first quarter. That continued throughout the game, including the third quarter where Moraine Valley held the Kougars to just five points while scoring 29 of their own. The final tally was an early season high for the Cyclones with more expected to come.
Mikayla Summey led the scoring with 27 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Jadea Johnson was solid overall with 24 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals. Lily Hernandez continued her three-point streak with five to help her accumulate 19 points. She also added five assists. Isabel Lopez contributed 14 points, including four three pointers. Danielle Dempsey closed out the double-digit scoring with a career-high 12 points and added eight rebounds. Shakila Brownlow grabbed 11 boards and had four steals for the night. Collectively, the Cyclones sunk 14 three pointers this game, nine of which came from Hernandez and Lopez.
At this point in the season, the Cyclones are the leading scoring team in Region 4, averaging 84 points per game and ranking No. 8 in NJCAA Division II.
