Cyclones offense dominates Scots

Cyclones offense dominates Scots
Despite a sluggish start, the Cyclones collected their 20th straight victory last night, going 100-77 over McHenry County College.

The Scots scored first and held a narrow lead in the early minutes of this game. A bucket and free throw from Jadea Johnson helped give her team the edge halfway through the first quarter. However, the Scots had a run before the end to go up 24-23.

More Cyclones baskets landed in the second quarter while they didn't for the Scots. Then Moraine Valley went on a 14-0 run, thanks to a collective scoring effort, to build a decisive lead, going ahead 54-40 at halftime.

The rest of the game played out as it has this season for the Cyclones – domination on offense and stunting their opponents' scoring abilities. Trajany Walker scored 17 of her 21 points in the second half alone, largely controlling the offense in the fourth quarter.

Walker led the offense while Johnson scored 14 points and Lily Hernandez had 13. Laila Houseworth scored all her 12 points on three-pointers. Mikayla Summey also scored 12 while Shakila Brownlow contributed 11 points. This was the Cyclones' 18th game this season where they scored 80 or more points.
